India has
more than 80 species of wood. Following are a few varieties of timbers
commonly used for producing hand crafted wooden products: Pine (Abies
Pindrow), Sheesham (Dalbergia Sissoo), Rubberwood (Hevea Brasiliensis),
Babool, Teak, Saal, Kapoor and Mango (Mangeferia Indica).
We normally use Sheesham for all of our products. Sheesham is a rich medium
brown hard wood with deep grains. It is a part of the rosewood family. The
wood variety is highly is durable, easily carved and is exclusively used for
making furniture. Depends upon customers’ choice we also use Teak wood,
Babool wood (Acacia).
Moisture content in wood also plays a critical role in quality and finish of
the product. Ideal moisture content of standard wood is 6 to 8%. All of the
wood use are properly seasoned and chemically treated. To make sure the
right job we have in-house plants. So if any product comes from Arihant Art
Exports, for sure it is made out of good quality hard wood. |
